Dianne Vorheier 9/15-10/20
IR Gallery : Dianne Vorheier press release
Dallas, Texas – Dallas oil painter Dianne Vorheier has a solo exhibition entitled “Artistic Endeavors” at Exposition Arts District’s newest venue, IR Gallery, located at 830 Exposition Avenue, suite 103. The opening reception is Saturday, September 18 from 6:30-8:30 and the show will hang through October 21, 2004. Admission to the reception is free and art is available for viewing during regular gallery hours, which are Saturdays from 1-5 PM or by appointment.
Dianne is a prolific artist whose travels have influenced her work immensely. She has lived and studied abroad for the last 5 years, all the while painting out of a suitcase, buying canvases and oil paints and producing paintings at a rapid pace, almost like a photographer. She has painted scenes in Itlay, Turkey and Greece with an ease and grace that befuddles fellow artists and collectors. Every summer, she travels to Greece to paint murals in hotels and reconnect with her Greecian ‘family’. This is the first summer she hasn’t gone, due to the Olympic Games. Several of these small oil paintings will be on view.
Also shown will be a number of sketches Dianne has created over the last few months that are small and truly precious works of art. In addition, Dianne will be exhibiting several of her large oil paintings, most notably from two recent bodies of work: The Dream Series and The Pink Lady Collection, both of which showcase her ability to create large-scale paintings.
“Artistic Endeavors” by Dianne Vorheier is a brilliant encapsulated form of Dianne and her work, a smattering of what makes Dianne a gifted artist. Her work is in the collections of many Dallas area patrons as well as hanging in collections across continental Europe. This solo exhibition promises to have ‘something for everyone’ with paintings large and small and at all price points.
